Granbury Cemetery, or College Hill Cemetery as some old-timers may say, sits on a hill eight blocks north of the Granbury town square. A great part of the area’s history lies resting here. Along with our many families you will also find General Hiram B. Granbury, our town’s namesake killed in the Battle of Franklin during the Civil War and finally laid to rest here, the infamous outlaw, Jesse Woodrow James, as well as Ashley Crockett, grandson of Alamo hero, Davy Crockett. Many war veterans are buried here, dating as far back as the War of 1812 to Vietnam. Literally take a walk through time as you visit this beautifully maintained historic cemetery.
