Granbury Theatre Company will launch its 2021 Broadway on the Brazos season with Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap on May 21-June 6, 2021, at the historic Granbury Opera House in Downtown Granbury.
Agatha Christie's iconic murder mystery, about a group of strangers trapped during a snowstorm, is the world’s longest-running play, according to Samuel French Inc., a Concordia Theatricals Company. “A group of strangers is stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer. Chalk up another superb intrigue for the foremost mystery writer of her time."
For the Opera House production, the cast includes Matt Beutner, Freddy Martinez Jr., Michel Mastick, Jeff Meador, Bentleigh Nesbit, Jarrett Self, Stevie Simmons, and Javon Tcheco. The stage play is under the direction of GTC president Micky Shearon, who last directed Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park in 2019. Designers for the production are: Hank Baldree, lights; William Byrum, set; Kyle Hoffman, sound; Devon Kleine, costumes. Whitney Shearon is the stage manager.
Performances times are 7:30 P.M. on Fridays, 2:00 P.M. and 7:30 P.M. on Saturdays, and 2:00 P.M. on Sundays. There will not be a show on Friday, May 28 but will be a special Memorial Day matinee on Monday, May 31 at 2:00 P.M.
