Wednesday morning, July 4th, sees the full day of events start with the annual Kiwanis Firecracker 5K at 8:00am, followed by the Tom Ward Decorated Bike Contest at 9:00am. The Hometown Parade gets underway at 10:00am, stepping off from the Granbury High School and making its way down Pearl Street to the Historic Granbury Square. 92.1 Hank FM will be on the square broadcasting live with play-by-play and interviews. There will be food vendors and arts & crafts vendors on the square for your full day of shopping fun. The local shops and restaurants on the square will be open, as well. Beginning at 6:00pm, the Texas Junior Bull Riding Shootout will buck off at the Granbury Reunion Grounds. Watch as members of the junior rodeo association compete for top billing in mutton busting, calf riding, steer riding, and bull riding! Then, stay seated after the rodeo to take in the award-winning and top-ranked Extreme Pyrotechnics Fireworks Show beginning at dusk over Lake Granbury…this is the perfect seat for the Independence Day display! Don’t forget to tune into KPIR 1420 AM for choreographed patriotic music.
