Details

The Hood County Fallen Veterans Memorial Dedication on Memorial Day at 12:30 pm will be a short program to dedicate a new historical monument to locally born or raised, Killed in Action or Missing in Action, Hood County heroes. These heroes will span all the way back to the 1898 Spanish-American War and space will be provided for future names to be applied, if needed. This memorial will have been built on the kind donations of the community and all entities no longer wanting these heroes to be forgotten for their selfless sacrifice. The program will consist of military protocol and honors lead by Hood County Fallen Veterans president and Army veteran, Brett Quillin. The location will be at the big stage on the north side of the Hood County Courthouse (101 E. Bridge Street). At the southwest corner of the Hood County Courthouse lawn is where the Hood County Fallen Veterans memorial can be viewed and admired for years to come.
