Same Time, Next Year


It is time for another Granbury Live Dinner Theater!

Same Time, Next Year is a Tony nominated romantic comedy play by Bernard Slade originally starring Charles Grodin and Ellen Burstyn. The plot focuses on two people, married to others, who meet for a romantic tryst once a year for two dozen years. New Jersey accountant George Peters and Oakland housewife Doris meet at a Northern California inn in February 1951. They have an affair, and agree to meet once a year, despite the fact both are married to others and have six children between them. This show is funny, funny, funny and great entertainment!

The stars of the show are a couple of terrific actors with big time resume’s!

Dennis O’ Neill who plays George has worked in over 130 films and tv shows. He has worked on many of the daytime TV Soap Operas such as The Edge of Night, The Guiding Light, Another World, One Life to Live, Ryan’s Hope and more. He has also worked with Robert DeNiro, Robin Williams, Frank Sinatra, Paul Newman, Sir John Gielgud, Al Pacino and others!

Abi Abel will play Doris and she recently performed as Angel in the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas at the Granbury Opera House. She has performed in numerous shows in the metroplex including Fiddler on the Roof, 42nd Street, The Desert Song, The King and IPeter Pan, Man of La Mancha, Young Frankenstein and many others.

Directed by Don Shook, this show is a sure fire bona fide crowd pleaser!
