Courtney Haines is a graduate of Booker T. Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts and holds degrees from Texas Wesleyan University (B.A., Music Performance), and the University of North Texas (M.M., Jazz Studies). A talented multi-instrumentalist, she was 10 years old when she performed as one of the opening acts for Jerry Lee Lewis. VH1 selected Courtney to perform in concert with Chicago as part of the “Save the Music” public awareness promotion. In the summer of 2002, Courtney was selected from a nationwide audition tour to play at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure with Disney’s All-American College Band in Anaheim, CA playing with jazz greats such as Horace Silver, Bob Florence, Wayne Bergeron, Bill Watrous, and Rick Baptist. Her European engagements include the Glenn Miller Café in Stockholm, the Trier 20th Anniversary Celebration in Germany, and the cultural exchange program Lone Star International Jazz Exchange in Germany, France, and the United States. She has performed numerous cruise ship engagements, and from 2009-2012, toured with Willie Nelson, Denis Leary, the Coasters, Platters, Marvelettes, and Barnum and Bailey Circus.
