Visit the most historic courthouse square in Texas and enjoy boutique shopping at more than 40 unique stores and nearly a dozen restaurants and eateries.
Viewed as a model for downtown revitalization, the Granbury Square is proud to have been the first downtown in Texas to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Preserving our historic charm and authentic Texas experiences is an important part of what Granbury is about.
Granbury Landmarks and Charm Restored
The majestic Hood County Courthouse was the recipient of the Texas Downtown Association 2013 President’s Award for Best Restoration, and, with the help of the City of Granbury and other donors, the Granbury Opera House has been completely restored. This state-of-the-art facility, which also won a TDA President’s Award for Best Renovation in 2014, sets the stage for the fantastic productions from the Granbury Theatre Company, a must-see for visitors and locals alike.
Downtown Granbury Square
Many Texas downtowns are the center of their community, but few serve as the lively hub of activity that Granbury’s square does. With a full service hotel and a beach within walking distance of the Square, festivals and concerts year round, and of course the world-class entertainment at the Opera House and the Big City Music Revue, there’s never a dull moment. Our historic square is full of unique shops and boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops, we even have a winery in our downtown! Those with a taste for adventure should be sure to join the Granbury Ghosts and Legends Tour or the Last Mile Cemetery Tour, which is offered four times each weekend.
