Governor Abbott Announces City Of Granbury As 40th Music Friendly Texas Certified Community!

Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the City of Granbury, having completed the multi-step certification process, has been designated as the 40th Music Friendly Texas Certified Community by the Texas Music Office (TMO). The Music Friendly Texas program, the first in the nation since introduced by TMO in 2016, seeks to foster music business-related economic development and job creation in Texas cities and communities.
“I congratulate the City of Granbury on becoming the 40th Music Friendly Texas Certified Community,” said Governor Abbott. “Music is key to the Texas brand and is deeply rooted in the cultural traditions of our great state. Music Friendly Texas communities certified by the Texas Music Office are serious about attracting and developing the local music industry to boost local job creation and economic growth. Together, we will continue to work alongside local leaders in Granbury and across every region to ensure our communities have the tools needed to grow and prosper.”

Becoming a Certified "Music Friendly Community"
Participation in the Texas Music Office's "Music Friendly Community" program provides Texas communities with a network for fostering music industry development and sends a clear message to industry professionals that certified communities are serious about attracting and developing music industry growth.
Cities that have received the official Music Friendly Communities designation from the Texas Music Office include Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Denton, Lindale, Stephenville, Conroe, San Angelo, Nacogdoches, Abilene, McKinney, Waxahachie, Waco, Alpine, Bastrop, New Braunfels, Victoria, Arlington, Denison, Lubbock, Brenham, Dripping Springs, Round Rock, El Paso, Odessa, Vidor, Grand Prairie, Port Aransas, Dallas, and San Marcos.
Cities that are currently working through the certification process include McAllen, Rockwall, Bryan, Kerrville, Houston, and NOW, Granbury!

Attend the Texas Music Friendly Community Workshop!
Join us at 4 pm on Monday, May 2nd, 2022 at the Lake Granbury Conference Center for a workshop led by Chip Adams, Community Relations & Outreach Specialist from the Texas Music Office, Office of the Governor, as we begin the process of becoming a Certified Texas Music Friendly Community!
As we all know, Granbury is alive with music every day of the week! Many talented musicians work, live, and play in Granbury. We are excited to partner with the Texas Music office and work together to promote this Uniquely Granbury music scene throughout the state! If you are interested in getting in on the ground floor of this partnership and being a part of the team working toward making Granbury a recognized Music Friendly Community, this workshop is for you!

ATTEND OUR MUSIC FRIENDLY TEXAS COMMUNITY CERTIFICATION
Join the Texas Music Office (TMO) and Visit Granbury on Saturday, February 25th at 1:15 PM, as Granbury becomes the 40th community in Texas to receive the Music Friendly Texas Designation from the State of Texas!
The certification ceremony will be part of the annual Granbury Jazz Fest at Hewlett Park, and is free and open to the public.
TMO Community Relations and Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will be in attendance to present the certification and give remarks.
