What is Ruck Forward?

Ruck Forward is a 22k and 5k ruck/walk through Granbury, Texas to remember SFC Riley Stephens KIA 9/28/2012 and to remember the 22 veterans a day lost to suicide.

On Saturday, October 1, 2022, the Ruck Forward 22k will begin at the VFW at 8:00 am.  The course will weave through the town of Granbury and then back to the VFW for the finish.  The 5k will start at the Jim Burks Firefighters Memorial at 10:30 am where you can meet up with the 22k to complete the last 5 kilometers together.  Shuttles will be provided for those who want to park at the VFW where we will finish.  There will also be emergency personnel available and water stations along the way.  When you complete the ruck/walk at the VFW, there will be hot dogs chips, water and Gatorade along with a welcoming, cheering crowd.  Entry to either walk is $30 per person and will be open until step off.  This includes a t-shirt, but shirts aren't guaranteed after September 15th.  You can also purchase t-shirts for $25.  90% of the funds raised will go toward the Hood County Fallen Veterans Memorial and 10% will go toward the Riley Stephens Memorial VFW Post 7835 Auxiliary.  Please invite as many people as you can and help us show the strength, American spirit and community as we walk together to honor those who make our great country possible.
