Film Friendly Certified Community

The City of Granbury was officially designated a Film Friendly Texas community by the Texas Film Commission in August 2019. This certification, announced by Governor Abbott, recognizes the city’s readiness to accommodate on-location filming and promote local economic growth through media production.

Located is in the southwest sector of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area, Granbury gives residents and visitors the best of both worlds — city and country. Being in close proximity to DFW offers residents a chance to enjoy small-town living with access to numerous amenities just a short drive down HWY 377. Yet in Granbury, you can experience the historic downtown square, tranquil parks, scenic Lake Granbury, and friendly folks that call it home. Granbury has many options - historic, scenic, even haunted! - that are perfect for your film project.

The first step to filming in Granbury is to complete the filming application, which requires a $25 application fee. Once you have completed the application, send it to Public Information Officer at pio@granbury.org.
